Martin Abrams lost his brother and sister to pancreatic cancer, so he got himself in a screening program.
A year later precancerous tissue was found and he had a distal pancreatectomy. His daughter Tova also undergoes screening because she has pancreatic cancer on both sides—a few years after her father’s surgery her mother was diagnosed with the same disease.
For Tova and Martin, “Family History Matters.”
