In Memory of Lisa Striar

Lisa Striar was a truly extraordinary woman whose strength and bravery defined her life, especially throughout her battle with pancreatic cancer.

She fought with unwavering determination, meeting each challenge with courage, grace, and an unbreakable spirit. Even in the face of adversity, Lisa remained a source of light for everyone around her.

She was the embodiment of kindness, resilience, and positivity, always putting others before herself while continuing to show up fully in every role she held. As a psychologist, Lisa dedicated her life to helping others navigate their own struggles, offering wisdom, compassion, and understanding. That same strength and care carried through her personal life, where she was a steady, calming presence no matter the storm.

Lisa had a rare ability to bring comfort and peace to those around her. She lived with intention and honesty, inspiring others through both her words and her actions. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, patriotic music, well-done French fries, summer road trips to the beach, long afternoons playing canasta with her girls, and most of all, time spent laughing with her family.

To those who knew her, Lisa was the heart of everything, the steady light, the source of strength, the one who made everyone feel safe and seen. Her bravery and resilience were not only evident in her fight, but in the way she chose to live every single day.

Lisa is survived by her beloved husband, James, and their three children, Samantha, Benjamin, and Charlotte, who were her greatest pride and joy. Her love for them was immeasurable and will continue to guide them always. She is also survived by her parents, Karen and Elliot Hershberg, and her sister, Julie Cohen, along with a wide circle of deeply cherished friends whom she considered family.

Lisa’s legacy is one of courage, love, and unwavering strength. Though she is no longer with us, the way she lived, and the bravery she showed and will continue to inspire all who were lucky enough to know her.
