Be Your Own Best Advocate

After years of digestive problems, Chris Parrish was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer. It was 2008, and she was 40 years old.

Rather than accept her prognosis, Chris searched for a place that she believed would save her life. She traveled with her mother to Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Chicago.  Throughout her treatment, her mother was her biggest source of support.

Chris founded the Purple Iris Foundation to give back and provide support for other people facing cancer.

She shares more details of her treatment in “My Journey Through Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer.
