Martin Abrams lost his brother and sister to pancreatic cancer, so he got himself in a screening program.
A year later precancerous tissue was found and he had a distal pancreatectomy. His daughter Tova also undergoes screening because she has pancreatic cancer on both sides—a few years after her father’s surgery her mother was diagnosed with the same disease.
