I Didn’t Expect to Be Doing This
After recovering from a Whipple procedure, Sheila Sky Kasselman realized that both pancreatic cancer patients and researchers needed support.
She started Sky Foundation, named for her grandparents and parents, with that mission in mind. Now Sheila and her foundation work with patients and researchers to make a difference for pancreatic cancer patients everywhere.
Read Sheila’s story in “Pancreatic Cancer Leads to a New Direction.”
Sheila passed away from pancreatic cancer complications 16 years after her initial diagnosis. She made pancreatic cancer her life’s mission, creating Sky Foundation to raise awareness and fund research into the disease. She was a tireless advocate and will be sorely missed by family, friends, and advocacy colleagues.
