4th Angel

4th Angel provides mentors for people undergoing treatment for cancer or caregivers of cancer patients, and also trains cancer survivors to mentor current patients. The program was launched as part of the Cleveland Clinic’s Scott Hamilton CARES Initiative.

Caregiver Action Network (CAN)

CAN (formerly the National Family Caregivers Association) is a nonprofit organization providing education, peer support, and resources to family caregivers across the country. They are working to improve the quality of life for the more than 65 million Americans who care for loved ones. Services are free of charge.

Family Caregiver Alliance

Family Caregiver Alliance is a San Francisco-based nonprofit that provides information, education, services, research, and advocacy support to sustain the important work of families nationwide who are caring at home for a loved one with chronic, disabling health conditions.

Help for Cancer Caregivers

Help for Cancer Caregivers, a unique collaboration of academic, insurance, and nonprofit organizations, provides resources and information to improve the health and well-being of caregivers of people with cancer.

Lotsa Helping Hands

A free web-based caregiver coordination service where people can create their own caregiving site to coordinate support needed for the caregiver and care recipient. The site provides a private group calendar where tasks can be posted. Family and friends may visit the site and sign up online for a task.

MyLifeLine.Org

Now part of Cancer Support Community, this nonprofit encourages cancer patients and caregivers to create free, customized websites, empowering patients to build an online support community of family and friends to foster connection, inspiration, and healing.

National Alliance for Caregiving

National Alliance for Caregiving is a nonprofit coalition of national organizations focusing on advancing family caregiving through research, innovation, and advocacy. The Alliance conducts research, does policy analysis, develops national best-practice programs, and works to increase public awareness of family caregiving issues.

NavigatePANC

NavigatePANC, a website created by the pharmaceutical company Celgene, provides access to the information people with pancreatic cancer and their loved ones need to plan, make decisions, and take their next steps after diagnosis. This information includes basic information about the disease, nutrition, treatment options, and planning.

Navigating Cancer

A free, easy-to-use website offering a variety of relevant cancer resources and a supportive community. Patients and their caregivers can use the Daily Health Journal to track symptoms and side effects to better communicate with the health care team about how they’re responding to treatment. Discussion forums are available for patients, survivors, and caregivers.

Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving

This organization provides education and support for family caregivers, including counseling and training. The organization is based in Georgia but offers many of its programs via video conference, telephone, and email.

Stronger Together

A health information website from Anthem, the section for cancer patients includes information about how to understand treatment options, a symptom management app, and resources for caregivers.

Today’s Caregiver

Today’s Caregiver, published by Caregiver Media Group, is a leading provider of information, support, and guidance for family and professional caregivers, with products developed for caregivers, about caregivers, and by caregivers. The magazine was the first published magazine dedicated to caregivers.

Well Spouse Association

A national organization focusing exclusively on the needs of those caring for a chronically ill and/or disabled husband, wife, or partner. Offers support groups, forums, and other resources.
