PancChat Gets a New Home: A Podcast You Can Press “Play” On

Julie Fleshman, Cindy Gavin, and Alisyn Camerota

Julie Fleshman, CEO of PanCAN; Cindy Gavin, CEO of Let’s Win; and host Alisyn Camerota kick off the PancChat Podcast with an in-person episode.

Let’s Win has always valued direct interaction between patients and pancreatic cancer experts.

We launched the monthly PancChat on Twitter/X at the same time we launched our online program. The PancChat was where patients, caregivers, clinicians, researchers, and advocates came together to talk openly about pancreatic cancer. Partnering with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN), the Lustgarten Foundation, and pharmaceutical company Celgene (now part of Bristol Myers Squibb), the chat provided people a way to interact with expert cohosts. People showed up with honest questions—about treatment options, clinical trials, side effects, and day-to-day realities—and experts joined in to explain and listen.

A Source of Reliable Information

Over time, the PancChat conversation grew into a trusted community, grounded in a shared belief: People deserve clear, compassionate information they can actually use. Studies in 2018, 2021, and 2022 validated the value and role of health-related conversations and content on social media.

But the changes in social media platforms caused us to look for a different format for the PancChat. With podcasting on the rise, we realized that some conversations are easier to hear than to read. We decided to move to a platform that enabled us to delve more closely into complicated topics and offer more flexibility for patients and caregivers who may prefer to listen off-screen, while waiting for an appointment, or having a rest.

:The podcast gives us a way to slow things down and really talk things through,” says Let’s Win co-founder Dr. Allyson Ocean. “Patients and caregivers are often overwhelmed. Hearing a conversation can make complex topics feel more approachable and less intimidating than reading dense medical information.”

All this led to the PancChat Podcast, which launched on July 1, 2025. All episodes can now be found on a dedicated page on the Let’s Win website, as well as all the major podcast providers.

A New Format for Valuable Information

PancChat has always been a collaborative effort, and we’re happy to continue partnering with PanCAN. Journalist Alisyn Camerota brings both professional and personal experience to the microphone, as she talks to leading researchers, clinicians, patients, and advocates, for practical, patient-centered chats grounded in real experience.

“PanCAN is honored to be part of the PancChat Podcast. By partnering with organizations and experts who share a commitment to patient-centered conversations, we’ve created a space where patients, caregivers and advocates can learn and connect,”  says Dr. Anna Berkenblit, Chief Scientific and Medical Officer of PanCAN. “As the field of pancreatic cancer research and treatment continues to rapidly advance, these conversations play a critical role in helping our community stay informed about progress that has the potential to directly improve patient outcomes.”
