Sidney Levinson

Attorney

Sidney Levinson is a lawyer who specializes in restructuring and special situations.  He has practiced for more than 35 years and is currently a partner at Debevoise & Plimpton, a New York-based law firm.  He is a fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy and, from 1992 to 1995, served as a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice (Civil Division).

Sid is a three-plus year survivor of pancreatic cancer.  He was the beneficiary of proactive doctors at Weill Cornell’s Jay Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Health who, after reviewing his genetic testing and family history, recommended that he schedule an MRI, which led to early detection of a small tumor that was removed before it could spread.  He remains a grateful patient of Dr. Allyson Ocean. He also participated in a one-year clinical trial conducted by Dr. Kim Reiss Binder at the Basser Center for BRCA at Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center.

Sid lives in New York City with his wife Amy.  They have two daughters.
