Pancreatic Cancer Patients Should be Offered Early Scans to Avoid Unnecessary Surgery, Says NICE

The first NICE guideline on the diagnosis and management of pancreatic cancer recommends the use of a different type of computed tomography (CT) scan, called PET-CT.

The scan will speed up diagnosis and more accurately determine the stage of pancreatic cancer in patients. Using these scans will mean that more people whose cancer has spread and is inoperable will not have unnecessary surgery that cannot cure their disease. Read more . . .
